Zero Movement. Zero Excuses. The Engineering of Zero-Drift™
by Mark Gibeault | Founder & Lead Inventor
The Evolution of the Modern Crease
In the modern era of ice hockey, the game is defined by explosive movement. Whether it is a goaltender driving into a post-integration RVH or a winger carving a tight turn around the goal frame, the force exerted on the goal post has never been higher. Yet, for decades, the foundation of the rink remained stagnant. Standard mooring systems were designed for a slower game, and their failure leads to constant stoppages of play, compromised training, and—most importantly—goalie injury.
At ANCHORPEGS® Performance Lab™, we recognized that "good enough" was no longer an option. We didn't just want to build a better peg; we wanted to redefine the physics of the crease.
The Science of Zero-Drift™ Technology
Traditional net anchors rely on weight and gravity. They are "passive" systems. Zero-Drift is an "active" engineering solution developed by Mark Gibeault Founder of Anchorpegs Ice Hockey. By utilizing precision-tapered anchors adjustable up to 1 1/8" in depth, the Anchorpeg system creates a mechanical "fusion" between the post and the ice surface.
This eliminates the micro-movements that cause nets to dislodge during high-intensity play. For the goalie, this means total confidence. When you know the post won't fail, you can push harder, slide faster, and attack your post-to-post movements with maximum velocity. Zero-Drift isn't just about holding a net; it's about holding an ANCHORPEGS standard.
Beyond Anchored:The Edge-Safe™ Mandate
Performance is nothing without protection. High-repetition post-integration drills and RVH transitions are notorious for destroying the structural integrity of a skate blade's edge. This was the second problem we solved in the Lab.
Our Guardian™ model introduces Edge-Safe technology. By integrating high-impact protectors into the anchor housing, we’ve created a "Soft Strike Zone”. Goalies can now train harder and execute post-loaded movements with maximum force without the risk of blade damage. We protect the edge so the goalie can own the game.
The Global Standard
Today, ANCHORPEGS has become the definitive foundation for the game, spanning the entire spectrum of the sport—from the highest professional leagues, to the world’s most elite training centers and local minor hockey rinks. We have moved beyond being an equipment option; we have become the industry benchmark. Whether at the pro level or the grassroots, when the net must hold, the choice is ANCHORPEGS.
The Performance Lab will continue to push these boundaries. We aren't just securing nets—we are Securing the Future of Hockey.
